Harry and Meghan: Welcome to My World

Sort of a quick post here, all about everyone’s favorite (or least favorite) Royal couple, Harry and Meghan. They are either a couple that you really love for their spunky attitude and “do it our way” mentality, or you hate them for being destructive to the Royal Family in the UK. Well, third choice I guess like many of my cousins is that they hate the living crap out of the “leeches from Germany” that are the British Royal family. Which every you choose, you will still hopefully find my take interesting.

This one same about this morning when I read a story about Harry and Meghan being interested in a pricey Hollywood hills home. Well, not pricey for the area at only 7 or 8 million, but still out of the reach of most of us mere mortals. I was interested not because of the price, but rather because what this purchase would represent to the couple.

You see, when this relationship started and the engagement was announced, everything was talking about how Meghan would be giving up her life and moving into the Royal world for the rest of her days. You know, she would be moving from Hollywood star to real life princess and all that stuff. Even after the wedding the newspapers, especially the British tabloid rumor and lies press have been on and on about how hard it has been for poor Meghan to adjust. They have, in many ways, pushed her being biracial as an excuse or reason for her failings. It’s been pretty gross. Everyone was still pushing the idea that She would have to adapt to Harry’s world.

Fast forward, and the tables are completely turned. Harry and Meghan have essentially renounced their royal status, and have moved to Canada. They cited the pressure from the press and the ill feelings Harry has towards them as a key in all of this. Harry still (correctly) feels that the press hounded his mother to an early grave, and he doesn’t want the same for his wife and child.

So instead of integrating into Harry’s world, things have gone 180 degrees the other way, and now Harry is getting adjusted to a life as a Hollywood A list celebrity. Purchasing a pied a terre property in Hollywood itself would be the final step in admitting that the whole thing has turned into Meghan’s world.
